It’s not very often that DC-born acts make it to the 9:30 Club. I wanted to introduce you to the Paul Pfau & the Dimestore Band this Friday at 7:00 along with Chris Collat Band, The Shields Brothers, Sub Radio Standard, and Static Cinema. Pfau’s voice reminds me of an American Paolo Nutini and the songs hook and swing in all the right places–kind of rock with a smooth classical sway and a little more singer-songwriter than knock you off your feet loud. Basically, a funky rock and roll.
Full Disclosure: Dimestore’s electric cellist Michael Hermann and I used to sing a capella together at UNC, so I know he is ridiculously talented first-hand. And $12 gets you a helluva lot of entertainment. Give them a listen!!
